This vest is approx. size 3 y/o - if you need the vest in a different size see this "DIAY" (do it ALL by yourself)
Tools & ressources:
Hook size G (4 mm)
Approx. 7-7,5 oz (200 g) of merino wool (I used this - but the most important thing is that it goes with the hook size)
Buttons (only for show)
Abbreviations:
st = stitch
ch = chain
ch st = chain stitch
sc = single crochet
tog = together
NB! I made ALL sc in the back loop only to get the rib effect - if you'd rather be without just make the sc as traditionally
1) Ch 53 (and then one more to turn with - ALL rows end with an extra ch st to turn with)
2) Do 5 rows of 53 sc
3) 52 sc, 2 sc in last st = 54
4) 54 sc
5) 53 sc,2 sc in last st = 55
6) 2 sc in first st, 54 sc = 56
7) 55 sc, 2 sc in last st (57) and then instead of turning ch 45 = 102
8) Do 9 rows of 102 sc
9) Do 40 rows of 73 sc
10) 73 sc, then ch 29 = 102
11) Do 9 rows of 102
12) 57 sc
13) 2 sc tog, 55 sc = 56
14) 54 sc, 2 sc tog = 55
15) 2 sc tog, 53 sc = 54
16) 54 sc
17) 2 sc tog, 52 = 53
18) Do 5 rows of 53
You're now done with the front piece of the vest. But don't fasten off, just continue on knowing that you're now working on the back piece
19) Repeat 2-6
20) 55 sc, 2 sc in last st (57), then ch 20 = 77
21) Do 59 rows od 77 sc
22) Repeat 12-18 - the last row is crocheted together with the first row. Fasten off and weave ends
Attach the straps and the buttons and voilá - you're done!
NB! Where the vest is crocheted together will be the reverse side of the vest - make sure to do the stitching/crocheting on the same side when the straps are attached
